Nationwide / DC TFRs

than a specific state, but these DO carry FAA boundary geometry — checked against BWHS
like any other mapped TFR (see the OVER BWHS marking if one applies).

NWS forecast model blocks, not hourly observations — wind, gusts,
ceiling, and visibility arrive as multi-hour blocks (typically 3–12 hours) and repeat the same
value across every row inside a block. When a layer returns a single value spanning a whole day
or more it is filler rather than a forecast, and the column shows “--” instead of
repeating it down the table.

Before you fly
This page is advisory. Under §107.19 the remote pilot in command is the
final authority for the operation — conditions overhead can differ from any forecast or nearby
station report, in either direction. Confirm on site before you launch.
Which rules apply
Program flights happen two ways: under Part 107, with the instructor as
remote pilot in command and a student on the controls (§107.12(a)(2) — which also requires the RPIC to be able to
immediately take direct control), and under the
recreational exception (49 U.S.C. §44809, TRUST certificate). Every limit on this page is
the Part 107 rule, cited by section, and the program applies those limits to every flight.
On a recreational flight the legally operative standard is the safety guidelines of an FAA-recognized
community-based organization together with §44809's own conditions — 400 ft AGL in Class G,
visual line of sight, and authorization in controlled airspace — none of which is looser than what
this page enforces.
